TeamLab Planets Review - Tokyo, Japan

TeamLab Planets is a full-on sensory immersion unlike anything I've ever encountered.  I arrived 30 minutes before opening (since I had pre-purchased my ticket) to find a line already forming! Luckily, being a solo traveler has its perks, and I snagged one of the first spots.

The whole experience is meticulously orchestrated.  After a briefing, we were ushered into a locker room.  I wasted no time stripping off my shoes and socks and making a beeline for the entrance. Below is an overview of my experience and my TeamLab Planets Review!

Here's a hot tip for visiting TeamLab Planets Tokyo: ditch the jeans! The water reaches mid-calf, so comfy, rollable clothes are your friend.

The first few moments were pure magic.  Imagine wading through water, practically alone, surrounded by ethereal lights and mesmerizing projections.  It was like stepping into another world!  The initial climb through the water was a bit of a surprise –  definitely hold onto the railing for balance as it’s a bit steeper than it appears.  Then came a dark room with an uneven floor –  I wasn’t  quite ready for a workout, but hey, that's part of the adventure, right?

Each room at TeamLab Planets is a complete sensory experience.  We're talking interactive light displays, mesmerizing projections that respond to your touch, and soundscapes that transport you to another dimension.  It's truly mind-blowing.

Now, fair warning, some of the rooms are seriously trippy.  One in particular gave me a touch of motion sickness, but honestly, it just added to the otherworldly feel.  Pro tip: if you know you get motion sick easily, pace yourself and take breaks.

After the water adventure, they provide towels to dry off and comfy slippers for the outside area. It's a small detail, but one that shows the thoughtful design of the entire experience.

Leaving teamLab Planets, I felt like I'd journeyed through a kaleidoscope of light, color, and wonder.  It completely exceeded my expectations and left me buzzing with creativity.  If you're looking for something completely out-of-the-box in Tokyo, this is it!  Just be prepared to embrace the unexpected and maybe wear some quick-drying clothes. I hope TeamLab Planets Review helps you with your upcoming trip.
